If you are looking for a fix for your PS3 red light flashing (RLOD), I am glad you found this website and I strongly suggest you carry on reading.
I am a huge fan of PS3 and play it quite often. I am a big fan of Gran Turismo, Need for Speed Shift and Fifa Soccer and put in a lot of hours playing these games. Just after Christmas, it was one of those dreary cold days and it was perfect for PS3 time, I go switch on my Playstation and the red light starts blinking. I switched off the PS3 and unplugged it hoping that a hard reboot would do the trick but no the red light kept flashing and my pride and joy was not starting up all.
The next day I called up Sony to start the procedure of sending it into repair the PS3 red flashing light and asked them how much it would cost and if they would be able to save what I had on the harddrive. They asked for my purchase details and I was out of my warranty so it was going to cost me big time. They quoted me $200 for repairs and estimated about 5 – 7 weeks wait time and they would also wipe the harddrive clean. That was not going to happen as it is too expensive, too long to wait to get my PS3 back and I need the content on the harddrive.
So now I need to find a way to revive my PS3 and get back to the games that I love, cheers
