How I fixed the PS3 Red Light Flashing Error

ps3-red-light-flashingHi Rob here. After a searching a few days for a way to repair the PS3 Red Light Flashing problem, I found a very good PS3 Repair Kit that I was able to fix the red flashing light and I had my PlayStation 3 up and running in a few hours and back to the games that I love.

So I thought I would give an uncensored review and what I think about PS3LightsFix.

Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking about buying PS3LightsFix, there weren’t many real reviews around so I thought I’d write one quickly to help any of you who are in the same situation I was. But be warned, I will be noting a few good and bad points and if you are scared to actually get into your PS3 unit, then this is not for you.

  • A very straightforward guide with loads of pictures in it pointing out the steps and the nice thing about this guide is that it is not techie at all. I was more worried about thinking that I would not understand most of the complicated lingo.
  • Great support which is 24/7. I had a few questions beforehand and they responded back the next day.
  • Instant Limited Access. If for any reason, a new problem should arise, I will be able to get the latest update to the repair kit.

So by repairing my PS3 by myself I was able to save the money Sony would’ve charged me, did not have to wait about 6 weeks for my unit to return and was able to be playing my games within a few hours.

The bad point that I had was that I took long to actually get through the repair. I was very nervous about opening the PS3 and did not want to muck it up. I was actually thinking to hell with this and sending my PS3 to Sony to fix the flashing red light problem and waiting the 6 weeks for it. Well I started the repair and it was an easy-step-by-step guide explaining each part and what to do in detail. The videos are well made so that you can see what is needed to be done.

I was very happy that I got PS3LightsFix and was able to repair my PlayStation and have it up and running again. I hope this review was helpful to you and that it helps in your decision in repairing your PS3 from the RLOD (red light of death) or any PS3 problem that you may have.

PS3 Light Flashing Red – Steps to Follow

I had searched online for any ideas on how I can fix my PS3 light flashing red and have come across a few suggestions but to now avail.

I tried checking if any cables were loose and tried doing a few hard reboots a few times but still the same RLOD. I tried unplugging all cables except the power cord, and plugging them back in which also did not work, still had my PlayStation red light flashing.

Someone suggested taking out the hard-drive and putting it back it, but I did not like that idea as I would think that I would mess up and lose all my data that was stored on it. I don’t want to open my PS3 and start fiddling around because quite a few sites that had guides to repairing your PS3 light problems suggested this but did not sound simple and directions were a bit dodgy.

Now I am thinking do I really have to send my PlayStation in to Sony for them to repair the PS3 red flashing light problem and fork out the $200 and then lose all the music and files I had. It would take forever to get that all back on and not sitting well with me right now.

PS3 Red Light Flashing Problem – How I saved my Playstation

If you are looking for a fix for your PS3 red light flashing (RLOD), I am glad you found this website and I strongly suggest you carry on reading.

I am a huge fan of PS3 and play it quite often. I am a big fan of Gran Turismo, Need for Speed Shift and Fifa Soccer and put in a lot of hours playing these games. Just after Christmas, it was one of those dreary cold days and it was perfect for PS3 time, I go switch on my Playstation and the red light starts blinking. I switched off the PS3 and unplugged it hoping that a hard reboot would do the trick but no the red light kept flashing and my pride and joy was not starting up all.

The next day I called up Sony to start the procedure of sending it into repair the PS3 red flashing light and asked them how much it would cost and if they would be able to save what I had on the harddrive. They asked for my purchase details and I was out of my warranty so it was going to cost me big time. They quoted me $200 for repairs and estimated about 5 – 7 weeks wait time and they would also wipe the harddrive clean. That was not going to happen as it is too expensive, too long to wait to get my PS3 back and I need the content on the harddrive.

So now I need to find a way to revive my PS3 and get back to the games that I love, cheers
